ULMA drainage channels in the renovated GAMAZO de Santander
ULMA Architectural Solutions participated in the recovery of this area, equipping it with different models from its wide range of channels. All this with an eye to the optimisation of the hydraulic capacity, easy maintenance and accessibility of the system.
Specifically, models from the Multi V+ 150 range with optimised V-section and slope arrangement were used, as well as heal-proof ductile-iron gratings (load class C250) according to the accessibility regulations for covering elements in pedestrian accesses.
For the heavy vehicle access area, the same channels have been installed but with gratings with load class D400, thus responding to the area's functional and aesthetic needs.
The technical solution, flexibility and adaptation offered as well as the high level of satisfaction of all the parties involved have been key factors in selecting the drainage solution proposed by ULMA Architectural Solutions.
The restoration of the Gamazo Dam and its surroundings, extending to the Nautical-Fishing School, required an investment of 1.1 million Euros and was executed by the company Vías y Contratas within a 10-month deadline and over a total area of 13,833 square metres.
The actions integrated in the project, developed by the architect Luis Castillo, include the comprehensive cleaning of the dam, the urbanisation and adaptation of its surroundings and the installation of a perimeter railing to provide a risk-free viewing area.
