Novel perforations for VN Alvorada facade in São Paulo
A modern new residential building in the Vila Olímpia neighborhood in São Paulo has installed ULMA perforated engineered stone panels on its main facade.
In early 2019, VITACON's construction team referred us to GAAZ Architects in order to help them develop a ventilated facade system. They wanted it to be perforated and to have easy installation, safety, low maintenance and high durability.
At the request of architect Fernando Romano, ULMA's technical team used the custom CREAKTIVE range to design novel perforations for the company's facade, based on architectural concepts.
The engineered stone panel was sized horizontally and its vertical edges were also cut to represent horizontal lines on the facade, this being one of the architect's most important requirements in terms of the concept of the work.
Applied in just over 10 days, ULMA's ventilated facade system was installed by locking the panels to the aluminum profiles between the floor and the slab, covering a span around 3 m in height, where a bike parking space will be installed.
