ULMA facade on the Diagonal skyscraper in Barcelona
It is a building of huge dimensions and great complexity in execution, as the tight project execution deadlines required the facade to be installed while they finished constructing the 6 new floors on the building
With exceptional views, it has become one of the most avant-garde buildings in the city
ULMA Architectural Solutions has installed its ventilated façade solution on the avant-garde tower with 124 apartments, 26 floors and a height of 100 metres in the very modern area of Diagonal. This spectacular skyscraper is located on the corner of Avenida Diagonal and Pere IV and is the ninth tallest building in the city. The project was carried out by Moliner Office Architects, a Barcelona-based architectural studio run by Jordi Moliner.
ULMA Facade cladding: sustainability and optimum quality
The project was developed with the philosophy of creating sustainable housing, with optimal quality and competitive costs. It is clad with ULMA's engineered stone Ventilated Facade, an energy-efficient system that leads to savings in the building's energy consumption, protection against atmospheric agents and durability, all in line with the trends set by the skyscrapers of the most innovative cities worldwide.
The earth texture and a porphyry colour from the VANGUARD range have been used on 900x500mm panels.
"The project recovers an unfinished concrete structure and transforms the building with an extension in height and a formal and material redesign of its enclosure. The unifying criterion of the constructive solutions adopted recomposes the randomness of certain openings or structural elements of the building." Moliner Office Architects.
