ULMA drainage on the main street in Castelfranco Emilia (Modena), Italy
165 linear metres of ULMA trench drains have been installed on Via Emilia, the main avenue in the town of Castelfranco Emilia, in Italy. The channel chosen was the MULTIV+ with a width of 150 and lateral single-slot grating.
This grating stands out mainly for its aesthetics, as it integrates perfectly into the pavement, totally blending in to the urban landscape without losing hydraulic capacity. It is also suitable for load classes up to D400, for all types of vehicles.
Thanks to the linear drainage, the system is much more hydraulically efficient, it prevents flooding in specific areas, it facilitates the execution of the slabs and absorbs minimum slopes of the land without the need for complicated executions on site. All this makes it more profitable in terms of the final cost of the drainage network.
Previously, they had a point drainage system, with water collection only at certain points. This type of system means that the grating becomes obstructed at many points and requires more maintenance.
